We've had quite a few sets of Visitors lately, and our latest set were Adam & Lena.

They stay with us for about a week, so we lived it up a little, playing Rockband & SIngstar on Thursday evening until the wee hours of the morning. Then on Saturday, it was Sam's Birthday, so we helped out with her BBQ and made it an all arvo Session.

Check out the photos on Flickr if you're game... it got a little 'messy' toward the end of the night.

Houston...Wii have a problem!

As they say, there is a first time for everything, and this weekend was my first experience with a flying wii-mote related incident...

We had taken the Wii to a friends house for the weekend as we figured the kids could play whilst the 'adults' were doing their 'adult' talking. It turned out that the other guest to the Sunday Roast was too ill to attend, so it ended up being just us and the hosts.

As is always the way with the Wii, the adults ended up just as intrigued as the children with the old Wii Sports, and the hosts were being rather vigilant with the kid's proximity to each other and the TV. It appeared that the horror stories of Wii related damage/injuries had infiltrated even their non-gamer world.

Anyway, mid-way through a 4 player (2 Wii-motes) Bowling match, the host was starting to fancy himself as a 'good' bowler. His turn comes around, he swings his arm back... then forward and BOOM! The Wii-mote flies from his hand, hits the ceiling (leaving a rather large dent), bounces across the floor and slides to a halt! It was like he was trying to throw the thing into Orbit!!!

I didnt really mind... it was more of a shock than anything. Turns out that he actually broke the Wii-mote though. The B button doesnt spring back anymore, but thankfully it's not always 'on', it just doesnt require much to depress it.

So I guess it goes to show you that parents dont always know best :D

We had a nice surprise last week, when a big printer turned up at the office for one of our clients (who we share the office with). Turns out this printer is also a scanner so I decided to try it out!

These are just a couple of doodles I did on post-it notes.

The Kingdom

I managed to score some tickets to a free preview screening of 'The Kingdom' on Sunday morning (at the bright and early hour of 10:30am!).

The movie was great, with excellent performances from Jamie Foxx and Jennifer Garner (it was nice to see her kicking ass and taking names again - oh how I miss Alias).
Plot wise, it was almost too real, being centered around terrorist attacks on Oil Company employees based in Saudi Arabia.

The opening 10 minutes were an experience in sheer tension, after living in London during the time of the tube bombings. And the climax of the film literally had me (and half the cinema) holding my breath, urging the protagonists onwards.

My only gripe would be the camera work in certain scenes. It seemed to take a page out of The Bourne Supremacy's book, shooting the action without steady cam in an attempt to make things 'more real'. All I really found was that I was looking at a blurred jumble of light during a certain car crash... let's just say I'm not a fan of this filming technique, however don't let this dissuade you from seeing the film.

I would thoroughly recommend the film, however it's not for the faint of heart, being rather graphic and gut wrenching at times.

Well it's nearly time to pick up the car, and I've gone and got myself a TomTom One EU edition, so I can find my way home again :D

Also, Heroes Season 2 has started in the States! Woohoo! I'll be watching that tonight :D

Well, after almost 3 years of living in the UK, we've decided to buy a car. And not just any car, a 1997 JDM Spec DC2 (thats a Honda Integra Type R for the non-motor heads out there).

We'll be picking it up tomorrow, hopefully, from out on the Piccadilly line about 2 stops from the end.

We're paying £5700 for the car, and negotiated our insurance down to £680.

It'll be very nice to be driving again, and even nicer to drive a NICE car :D

Since starting my new job and exploring a bit, I found a rather large bookstore down near Piccadilly Circus, Waterstones.
It's 5 storeys of booky goodness, and during my initial venture inside, I discovered they sell a style of notebook that I've been meaning to investigate for sometime, Moleskines.

So I picked one up for £10 & Im thoroughly impressed with it! The paper quality is amazing, and it's just small enough to not be annoying to carry and yet large enough to allow you to use it without feeling cramped.

I've only drawn some doodles on the first page so far and unfortunately, I dont have access to a scanner anymore, so I cant upload anything at the moment.

Wow its been a long time since I've posted here. Amazing how time flies...

Just an update on recent events really... since my last update:

I've signed up for facebook and I kind of understand the popularity of it now.
I've got a new job over in Mayfair, so my drawing has lessened.
I've been stung by a bee.
I've got a rather sore hip from Crohn's related arthritis.
I've purchased a PS3.
I've been to a Premier League football match (Liverpool vs. Chelsea).

Not necessarily in that order, but thats the biggest things that've happened recently. I should really try update more, but now that I dont have easy access to a scanner (I was using the work one at my previous job) I'm not sure how I'll upload drawings.
However that would actually require me to do some drawings, so maybe I should start there!
